El Raso is the largest of the out lying Guardamar urbanisation's and was only built around 2003.

El Raso is the urbanisation of roundabouts (22 within the road ways already containing property - and a further 14 on the roads to the back of El Raso, which have no property's as yet) ... see our Map above. There is only one way in and one way out of the urbanisation.

The builders of El Raso bit off more than they could chew - or, more than the Guardamar Council would let them swallow ; the roadways constructed to the back of El Raso were extended over the Laguna de La Mata (a nature park) border - it is debatable whether this area of El Raso will ever see any housing development - time will tell.

The El Raso urbanisation in Guardamar as a whole, is divided into smaller "communities" which include .. El Cortijo Real, Lagomar Fase's, Zodiaco, Villas Maria, Rasomar, Playa Golf Letizia, Juan De Luz, Naranjos and Herradura, Promosol, Villa Laguna, Royal Park, Christina, Orcelis, La Cigaras, Oasis and Alanis. Most of these El Raso communities are marked on our Map above.

The Sunday morning El Raso market - the largest market in the whole area - held on on Sunday, the "Lemon Tree" (or "Guardamar Campo") market is located just to the left (off our map) of El Raso. If you like a market then - this is for you - opens around 09.00 till 14.00 - food and beverage available in abundance and within easy walking distance from anywhere in El Raso.

The translation of El Raso into English roughly means - "an area of flat land".
The population of El Raso consists of many different nationalities - but by far the majority of owners are British, it's proximity (4.5km nearest) to Guardamar del Segura beach(es) make it a much sought after holiday location.
